Living in New York continuously exposes us to people who are in need of a job, a place to live or even just a meal. The Bowery Mission is an amazing organization that works to provide all of these things as well as programs to help people get back up on their feet. We would love a CSA membership. With a CSA membership, members purchase "shares" of fruits and vegetables from local farmers for a block of 5 months. The money from a CSA helps support local farmers with financing so they can purchase equipment and supplies. We, in turn, will get a bag of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables from their harvest every week. It's a win/win. The total amount for a 5 month block is $475.
This gift is one that we would truly appreciate and it only costs a little bit of your time (and a few stamps).
Our request is simple. With this gift we ask that for the first two months of our marriage you write us a thoughtful letter, each week, letting us know about your life, your daily events and perhaps a little encouragement for us as a couple as we embark upon our life together.
We would rather have experiences over things (although Brian might beg to differ when it comes to books). We haven't figured out specifics yet but we do know that we'll be going on a Honeymoon in the spring of 2016. We're thinking about doing a 2 week tour of Eastern Europe and will give you more details as soon as we have them.
