Sample Hurricane Relief Wish List
New Dream
Welcome to SoKind registry! ***This is a SAMPLE hurricane relief wish list - it is designed to inspire those affected to create their own personalized wish lists or for friends and families to create for loved ones affected by the hurricane.***
For those of you eager to help, please do not try to give a donation through this registry. Again, this is not a real registry. We will share real registries with our community once they are created.
A note to those using this service: SoKind compiles requests, but does not sell the actual items. This is what allows the users to ask for any kind of donation from anywhere. If someone chooses to donate a material item (like toothbrushes), they can buy the toothbrushes from wherever they wish and send to you. If you have preferences about a particular item, be sure to include as much information as you can. You can even link to specific items at online stores. For best results, please provide as much instruction to the donors as possible!
If any local friends not as severely affected by the hurricane can provide babysitting on the weekends as we try to clean out our house, we would appreciate it!
Please see the calendar to see which days we could most use your help.
Do you have a solar phone charger that we can borrow until the electricity is up and running again? Tom and I would appreciate each having one, but we can also share.
If we could borrow flashlights, that would be a huge help. One for each of us would be perfect.
The big tree in our front lawn needs to be removed and we can't do it by ourselves. We would love as many people as possible to help us get it out!
Please send me an email if you're around next week to help.
While we are completely fine borrowing most items, we feel like you won't want toiletries returned. We are most in need of toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, and deodorant.
Our car was damaged, and we don't know when we'll be able to get it fixed. Does anyone have a car we can borrow for the next few weeks? Even just for a few hours on the weekends would be a big help.
While we're suffering as a result of the hurricane, we're so lucky to even have a home to rebuild! Members of the local homeless population could use even more help. If you're too far to help with your time, please consider giving a donation to the local shelter.
The hotel we're moving into doesn't allow for pets, so Daisy needs a home for the next few weeks. Anybody willing to take in a well-behaved pup?
Since we know nothing about construction, we're slightly worried about all the DIY work we're getting ourselves into. Please help us out by sending a first aid kit.
Anybody really good at removing drywall? After we remove all the damaged furniture, that will be our next step. We would love as many people as we can get to help!
