Help us build a FORT.
As you may already know, FORT is a non-profit, sober, queer, trauma-informed tattoo and creative studio in Stoke Newington, London. We're launching our first space with an opening event on the 29th of May. At this event we will have a tattoo flash day and then during the evening have an artists open studio where you can come and hang out and celebrate with us.
We're an entirely community founded and funded organisation, so have very limited funds and would love to look to our community to help us get established. We need a few bits that are things people often have going spare, so we're asking if you'll be able to bring/donate any of the following items, in return for a beautiful A3 Riso print. You can bring as many things as you want that fit the list, and we're encouraging people to bring items they already own, but if you feel the urge to purchase any of the things on this list for the space that's also gratefully accepted.
We need lamps and lighting, doesn't have to look like this but something small that could sit on or clamp to a shelf
Some tea and coffee mugs would be great!
Knives, forks and spoons if you please
They can be less Good Housekeeping and more mismatched than the example image- something a fair size with a lid
Ideally pleather or something with a removable cover that can be easily cleaned
Plug in (not battery) and the longer the better
A4 or bigger, so we can protect all our glorious art when we hang it!
for people to drink cold things from
What screams moving in more than potted plant gifts? And also just nice pots for the plants that will move in too. We have plenty of tiny pots so clippings from your plant babies are very welcome!
Pens, pencils, paper, sketch pads, paints, anything that's in decent condition and wants to be made into art
Space heaters of any kind as long as their electrics are safe! V Important! We need to keep people warm and comfortable in all seasons.
Desk and floor fans welcome, as well as air con units. Also very important, so people are comfortable in the summer.
To keep our plants alive
For drinking water, something like this with a little tap would be great
To reach things and place tattoo stencils around the lower leg
Any kind of photography lighting, but something with a softbox would be great
Floor standing ring lights to use with tattooing
Full length mirrors, hanging mirrors, any and all kinds from big floor leaning mirrors to palm size
New or used as long as it's undamaged and clean :) We've included a link in case you were feeling generous and want to buy us one!

Hanging plant baskets/pots or macrame plant pot holders
For events/meetings. Folding chairs only please as we don't want to take up too much storage space
Any kind of sensory/sunset/oil lamp/projectors
Something high power enough to screen onto the large ceiling
We've always got use for spare extension leads if you have any lying around that aren't being used. The longer the better.
If anyone is feeling extra generous and has an iPad they don't use (something that can be used with a pen/procreate), we would love to have a spare or two for workshops/training and as backups
Something we can hang from the beams (must have a plug)
Any kind of good quality timber that can be used for building shelves/frames etc. 2/4s, planks, sheets, MDF, OSB, plywood, shelving etc.
